Welcome
On behalf of our Committee, our Scoutmaster and his Assistants, and the scouts and parents of Troop 740, Welcome.

Thank you for taking the time to visit our Troop's website.  This website is divided into several sections, updated weekly, that provide our scouts and parents with information on event times and details, what to pack for trips, access to download and print forms, view pictures and so much more.  We are proud to offer this online resource to supplement our Scouting program, and hope it helps you learn a little more about our Troop, but please feel free to call or email the scoutmaster, visit a weekly meeting or attend a monthly camping trip to get know us better.

What Is Scouting?

Boy Scouting, one of the traditional membership divisions of the BSA, is available to boys who are at least 10 years old or have completed the fifth grade and are at least 10, or who are 11, but not yet 18 years old. The program achieves the Boy Scout of America's objectives of developing character, citizenship, and personal fitness.

Visit this article for a comprehensive history and more information on Boy Scouting in the United States.

If you are a boy in first grade through fifth grade—or you're 7 to 10 years old—then Cub Scouting is for you!  Some of the best things about Cub Scouting are the activities you get to do: camping, hiking, racing model cars, going on field trips, or doing projects that help your community and the people who live there.  For more information on Cub Scouting with 740 see the Pack 740's website.

What does Troop 740 do?

We are an active group that meets weekly, camps once a month, participates in regular community service activities and attends Boy Scout Summer Camp every year. We focus on providing an environment that fosters in youth the initiative to grow and learn while instilling strong values and morals that will serve them for the rest of their lives.

Troop 740 is a fifty five year old Boy Scout Troop chartered to the Immaculate Heart of Mary Parish, located at 8501 Loch Raven Blvd.  We are incorporated into the Dulaney District, one of ten scout districts operated by the Baltimore Area Council, Boy Scouts of America.  For more information on the School and Parrish at IHM visit their website at www.immaculateheartofmary.com.  More information on the Baltimore Area Council can be found at www.baltimorebsa.org.

Join us as we celebrate our 56th year of Scouting at Immaculate Heart of Mary

Regular Troop meetings are held on Thursdays at 7:30pm in the IHM School Parish Center/Building Located between the main school building and the Church.
